The Remote Cooking Thermometer - My Favorite New Gadget

My talents don't include those of a good consumer. Although I've made many purchases, I'm not one to run right out and impulsively purchase the latest trendy gadget. To be aware of what is new on the market, you have to read magazine ads and watch TV commercials and I don't do either.

I admit to being totally ignorant of what the latest trends even are. Strange as it seems, I have fallen in love upon using gifts friends have given me without even having heard a single thing about the particular product up to that time.

As a good example, last Christmas I was given the gift of a Wireless Cooking Thermometer, which is really a remote control thermometer. My entire outlook on grilling or cooking in the oven has changed dramatically, and all because of this clever little item.

Before then when I followed recipes, it always took longer to cook the meat and reach the level of doneness desired than the cooking instructions indicated. There were too many times that I would check the meat before serving my guests only to discover the upsetting fact that it was still too red and raw inside. Unfortunately all my side dishes grew cold as I had to reheat the oven or grill and cook the meat longer. All the planning in the world doesn't prepare you for this.

The solution I came upon was to use a Meat Thermometer to make certain the food was thoroughly cooked but the only problem with that was I had to stay in the kitchen close to the oven to watch over it. Instead of being able to socialize and enjoy my guests, I had to station myself near the oven. During my lonely vigil, I would miss a lot of the fun including game playing and parts of movies and shows.

This was before my clever wireless cooking thermometer made an appearance in my kitchen. It is now so simple, as I can attend to my other duties after I have programmed the probe to reach the proper temperature. I am now able to mingle with my guests, play games or prepare other dishes because the apparatus fits in my pocket or clips right on my waist line and tells me when the meat has reached the right temperature.

Then I only need take a quick peek to see how close the meat is to being done, and time other side dishes that must go in the oven. The great thing is that all my side dishes are ready on time and the meat is cooked to perfection.

Now if you're still searching for info on thermometers, be sure to check out either BBQ Thermometer or pool thermometer!
